To treat each patient with the utmost respect. We strive to treat each patient with a wholistic and comprehensive approach.
The dental bridge procedure is a restorative dental treatment to replace missing teeth. The bridge fills the gap in the mouth between healthy teeth or dental implants on either side to restore both the function and appearance of teeth.
What can I expect after dental bridge?
Your mouth, gums and tongue may feel numb for a few hours after your dental bridge procedure. This is because the local anaesthetic will take time to wear off. You may also feel some tenderness and your affected teeth may be more sensitive than usual to cold and heat for a few days or weeks after your procedure. A temporary bridge or crowns are placed after preparation of the dentition.
What happens when you get a crown?
They're permanently cemented on teeth that have cracked, extensively decayed, or otherwise been damaged. Although they sometimes extend down onto the root surface, crowns essentially replace the outer aspect of the “crown” part of a natural tooth.
How long should a crown hurt?
Pain, Discomfort and Sensitivity
Most people experience some pain or discomfort in the affected area of the mouth following a dental crown procedure and is usually very mild. This typically improves after several days without any assigned treatment.
A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.
Dentures (also known as false teeth) are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth, and are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable (removable partial denture or complete denture). However, there are many denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clasping onto teeth or dental implants (fixed prosthodontics). There are two main categories of dentures, the distinction being whether they are used to replace missing teeth on the mandibular arch or on the maxillary arch.
What happens at a dental cleaning?
With the small mirror to guide them, the dental hygienist uses a scaler to get rid of plaque and tartar around your gum line, as well as in between your teeth. You'll hear scraping, but this is normal. Brushing and flossing stops plaque from building up and hardening into tartar.
Filling Cavities: What to Expect
Before filling cavities, anaesthetic is used to numb your teeth, gums and surrounding skin to avoid and lessen discomfort during the procedure. Next, drilling out the decay in the tooth and replace it with a filling occurs. This process only takes a few minutes.
What does cosmetic dentistry include?
Cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance (though not necessarily the functionality) of teeth, gums and/or bite. It primarily focuses on improvement in dental aesthetics in color, position, shape, size, alignment and overall smile appearance.
What is involved in teeth whitening?
The process of tooth whitening lightens the colour of a tooth. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is the active ingredient most commonly used in whitening products and is delivered as either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide.
A dental implant (also known as an endosseous implant or fixture) is a surgical component that interfaces with the bone of the jaw or skull to support a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis or to act as an orthodontic anchor.
A dental extraction (also referred to as tooth extraction, exodontia, exodontics, or informally, tooth pulling) is the removal of teeth from the dental alveolus (socket) in the alveolar bone.
I've been using the same dentist for quiet sometime now and i couldn't be more impressed with his work.
Taking my kids to a dentist has never been easier. They just loved the welcoming and warm atmosphere in there!
I urgently required dental help last 10th of May. And despite all other clinics being closed, HayfieldsDental took my appointment!
